1. Always in Service are scammers. they used to have another name, but after Google banned the word 'locksmith' in the Maps, those guys replaced their name.

2. Always probably ripoffed some people & now they are busted. Like a bad dancer, they're blaming the floor for not being straight enough.

3. SuperPages ARE trying to sell local (area code) phone #s. CitySearch used to do that as well & Yelp are going for it now. SuperPges don't care how many listings 1 company have as long as they are paying for their listings each month/ year.

4. YellowPages just sent an email to many of their customers, saying they'll look for listings with UPS & virtual office addresses & they will 1. take them off or 2. change their addresses to 'serving the area of ..'.

5. i don't know how SUperPages have so many customers & why YP are the biggest Local agency, but i know that i used to have a HUGE campaigns with them (~$120,000/ year) & b/c we have a super-great calls tracking systems we quickly understand how not profitable those campaigns are. now trying to pill off those campaigns from our bizs is a nightmare. i wonder how many of those 2 huge companies' clients are actually tracking their campaign to that extant..?

AIt all began with franchises realizing that calls increased when yellow pages users believed that businesses were local from the use of multiple local area codes, prefixes, and cities in display ads...

Look what we created. I BELIEVE this took place before headlines in ads too. Very outdated method to increase calls and manipulate consumers into believing that businesses were local or closer and thereby cheaper.
