Tim, the issues around address-less businesses and business categories which less frequently have brick-and-mortar storefronts have been serious for years at this point. Google continues to treat businesses without displayed street addresses very poorly. If you come up with a street address to use, like a home address or mail store, you risk getting your listing suspended. Yet, if you suppress display of your street address you seem to have a much-reduced chance of ranking affectively against competitors.

The ongoing issues caused by this just seem to keep growing worse. I've written about aspects of this for quite some time. For instance, check out:

Train wreck is one way to describe it and that's being nice. My favorite story is where Google decided that some services businesses like carpet cleaners need to hide their address because they don't serve their customers at their place of business. AND then Google proceeds to shut off thousands of Google Place pages because their address wasn't hidden properly per TOS. SMB's complained so they stopped shutting them off but then they cannot restore many of the Google Place pages. I know this is true because it was one of my Google Place pages! Talk about bad customer service....
